The City has enlisted the services of Tripepi Smith, a community engagement firm specializing in local government, to collaborate with residents on gathering a consensus on community needs and concerns of the Leisure Bear residents.
On November 15 and 16, 2024, Kylie Sun and Jacob Lyle personally visited Leisure Bear Mobile Home to engage in discussions and gather resident’s insights regarding the future of the Leisure Bear community. The team went door to door to meet residents, ask a few basic questions and invited you to an upcoming community workshop. The Tripepi Smith team compiled these responses and provided feedback to both the City and Leisure Bear Park management team.
Furthermore, Tripepi Smith hosted an informative and collaborative workshop at Community Church Big Bear (40946 Big Bear Boulevard) on December 4, 2024, The workshop was held in English in Spanish. This session aimed to provide the community with a comprehensive understanding of the community’s history, the City’s objectives and priorities and to address any questions or concerns the community had. Additionally, we engaged in a conversation about community concerns and ideas for creating a better neighborhood experience.
Tripepi Smith and the City hosted a second workshop at Community Church Big Bear (40946 Big Bear Boulevard) on May 20, 2025. This session shared initial findings from the master planning efforts of Birtcher Anderson & Davis and provided an overview of preliminary costs associated with rehabilitating Leisure Bear.
