The warm days of summer were officially welcomed at the Leisure Bear Park Office on Saturday, June 15, with the much-anticipated Annual Summer BBQ. Hosted by Heather, the Community Manager, the event was a resounding success, drawing residents together for a day of fun, food and community spirit.

The yearly tradition, organized by the park management team, aims to kick off the summer season on a high note, providing residents with an opportunity to connect with their neighbors and enjoy a complimentary lunch courtesy of the City and the management team. This year’s event saw an impressive turnout, with over 65 residents in attendance, marking it as the largest gathering to date.

The spread featured an array of delicious dishes, including hot links, beef brisket, pulled pork, chopped pork, fried chicken, macaroni salad, potato salad, baked beans, fruit salad and a selection of desserts ranging from cookies to cupcakes and candies.

Throughout the event, residents mingled, enjoyed the food and soaked up the community atmosphere. Residents stopped by throughout the day, some taking plates to enjoy later or even stopping by on their lunch breaks to join in the festivities. The enthusiastic response prompted an extension of the BBQ by an hour to ensure everyone had their fill, leaving no leftovers behind.

Thank you again to all who attended the Summer BBQ! As the warm weather continues, residents are reminded to mark their calendars for the upcoming “Back 2 School Give-A-Way” event. Heather will be distributing backpacks for residents at the Park Office on Wednesday, July 24, and Thursday, July 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’s an opportunity not to be missed for those gearing up for the new school year.
